The FPV UK Certificate of Competency: Practical is a practical achievement for members who want to improve their practical know-how and flying skills. It is entirely optional and is done for the member’s own pleasure and sense of achievement – and to improve their confidence.
To achieve the certificate, the member must be able to safely and competently prepare and fly their aircraft through a number of prescribed manoeuvres.
Members can achieve the Certificate of Competency: Practical through their own individual practice, with or without help from a local mentor, followed by an assessment with an FPV UK examiner. Or they can attend a training course with an FPV UK approved training organisation.
There is no charge for the FPV UK Certificate of Competency: Practical examination from FPV UK and those who hold it pay a lower excess in the event of an insurance claim (terms and conditions apply – please see the FPV UK handbook). Your examiner may charge you for their time and expenses, etc and they will make this clear to you when you first contact them.
When completed, the member’s membership certificate and membership card will show that they have achieved the Certificate of Competency: Practical.
If you represent a training provider and you would like to offer this training course please get in touch here.
