CAA Operator ID Registration/ Renewal through FPV UK

We are presently in the testing phase of our new overnight registration link between FPV UK and the CAA.

Once this testing is complete we will be able to:

1) Register new members with the CAA for their first time.  Members will receive their CAA Operator ID the following day.

A new option to add the ‘CAA Registration’ subscription will appear in member’s FPV UK accounts on the FPV UK membership system (very like the one that we had last year under the previous ‘bulk import’ method).  The CAA’s £9 registration fee will be charged by FPV UK at the time, and subsequently before it expires 12 months later.

As with all of our subscriptions; the FPV UK membership system will send reminders three days before, and one day before the subscription renews and the £9 CAA fee is taken from your card.  This gives you the opportunity to cancel it if desired.

This offers a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution.  Members won’t need to go to the CAA website to register manually – everything is handled by FPV UK.

2) Renew CAA Operator ID registrations for our existing members.  This means that all of those members who registered with the CAA through FPV UK last year will automatically renew with us as planned.

The first batch will be done before 14th February 2021 – 12 months after the first batch of registrations.   You will receive a new GBR-OP-XXXXXXXXXXXX format Operator ID at this time.  (In future years your Operator ID will stay the same).

Nb. You will get a renewal reminder from the CAA 21 days before your registration expires (24th January for the first 14th February batch) – please ignore this reminder.  Your registration will be automatically renewed by FPV UK.  You don’t need to do anything.

3) Automatically manage the CAA Operator ID registrations for members who previously registered directly (or through another association).  Those members who registered directly, or through another association, simply need to add in their Operator ID, and its expiry date, when adding the ‘CAA Registration’ subscription to their FPV UK account.

FPV UK will then automatically renew the member’s CAA Operator ID registration before it expires – adding 12 months to it’s validity period.  You will be automatically charged the £9 CAA fee by FPV UK going forwards.

This offers a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution, and you won’t need to go to the CAA website to register manually.  As with all of our subscriptions; the FPV UK system will send reminders three days before, and one day before the £9 CAA Registration fee is charged to your card, giving you the opportunity to cancel it if desired. .
